happening?! Part 9 will be held!
The ninth installment is SAGAN Vienna, a bag brand from Vienna, Austria.
SAGAN Vienna, a bag brand from Vienna, Austria, which creates bags based on the concept of "Familiar done differently,"(A different way of showing something well known.) will hold a pop-up store at SENSE OF HUMOUR from November 3 (Fri.) to the end of January next year.
An opening reception will be held on November 2 (Thu) to commemorate the event.
The pop-up store will showcase a variety of products including the Pazar Book Tote, including an online-only navy color.
The Pazar Book Tote is a collaboration with Karl Obock and is made of recycled nylon made in Toyooka, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. Vintage-inspired messenger bags, and a collection using grape leather will also be available.
Two types of fixtures were used in the exhibit: birch pole fixtures and linen fixtures.
The birch pole fixtures were inspired by the Japanese wooden structure used in Austrian communities to support the pots used to knead bread.
The linen fixtures were created using 100-year-old linen from Transrovenia, Romania.
Also on display are a variety of collected items that have inspired designers Tanya Vladarich and Taro Omae.
We hope you will take this opportunity to visit the exhibition.
*The opening reception is by invitation only.
"SAGAN Vienna"
SAGAN Vienna is a bag brand from Vienna, Austria.
The brand concept is "Familiar done differently"(A different way of showing something well known.)The design concept of SAGAN Vienna is fair, responsible, good quality, unique, relaxed and elegant. History, the well-known, becomes a new idea.
Leather is carefully selected from Italy and Spain, and hardware and other accessories are made in Italy and Japan. Some standard items are made of Wiener Geflecht (Viennese weaving, wicker weaving), a traditional Viennese material that has long been familiar to the public. The company also incorporates many of the antler parts produced in Vienna, which are made in a factory that has been in existence for more than 150 years. In a new initiative, the brand is expanding its range to include grape leather, which is made from wine waste from the winemaking process.
The founders of the brand are Tanja Bradaric from Croatia and Taro Ohmae from Japan. Tanja graduated from the University of Applied Arts Vienna and studied under Raf Simons and Veronique Branquino. She has worked for Balenciaga, Chloé, christian wijnants, and Punta Seta. After graduating from Bunka Fashion College, Ohmae moved to England in 2007. He graduated from the University of Applied Arts Vienna. He studied under Veronique Branquino and Bernhard Wilhelm. She gained experience at Balenciaga and Chloé.
